New Diagnosis Group (Sessions on October 19th and 26th)

New Diagnosis Group (Sessions on October 19th and 26th)

The BC Epilepsy Society’s New Diagnosis Group offers participants an interactive opportunity to learn about their epilepsy and the practical matters they will need to know.

The New Diagnosis Group combines medical information with practical recommendations from the real-life experiences of facilitators living with epilepsy.

The New Diagnosis Group is a two-session program. The two sessions will be held over Zoom on Tuesday October 19th and Tuesday October 26th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Participants will learn about:

  • The different types of seizures
  • The importance of determining your type of seizure and its triggers
  • What a seizure threshold is and how to keep it high to prevent seizures
  • How to safely do the activities you love
  • How to alter aspects of your life if that becomes necessary
  • Some of the many ways the BC Epilepsy Society can offer support, information, and advocacy for people living with epilepsy

Both facilitators of the New Diagnosis Group have lived with epilepsy for long periods of time and are happy to share their knowledge and experience with group participants.
