VNS Neuromodulation Therapy Webinar on Tuesday June 23rd at 6 PM

Join the BC Epilepsy Society and the I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ campaign on Tuesday June 23rd from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM PST for the VNS Neuromodulation Therapy Webinar to learn about vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) may be a potential treatment option for people living with epilepsy.

This webinar will focus on how VNS works to control seizures, including the surgery involved with the VNS implantation process and the clinical results and potential side effects of VNS. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A to engage people who are more interested in what the VNS device can do for them.

About the Presenter:

  • Cameron Finlay is the Education Manager and a Senior Technical Product Specialist in the Neuromodulation Division of LivaNova Canada, the company that manufactures the VNS device. His background spans over 35 years in medical technology, initially at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, before joining industry in 1990. The majority of his work has been in the cardiac field, but he later moved into the realm of neurology, specifically the advanced treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy. He brings a lifetime of experience working with patients with implantable technology to his presentations, allowing for an informal but informative educational event.

The webinar will be moderated by Kim Davidson, CEO & Executive Director of the BC Epilepsy Society and Founder of the I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ campaign.
