Sexual Health and Epilepsy Webinar on March 3rd at 5 PM PST (Epilepsy Expert Webinar Series)

While many people living with epilepsy do not experience difficulties with their sexual health, some people living with epilepsy may experience difficulties with their sexual health from time to time. Join the BC Epilepsy Society and the I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ campaign on Wednesday March 3rd, 2021 from 5 PM to 6 PM PST for our Sexual Health and Epilepsy Webinar.

This webinar will focus on sexual health as it relates to epilepsy, including an overview of sexual health and why some people living with epilepsy may experience difficulties with their sexual health, including the epilepsy itself, worry about seizures, medications, mental health, etc.

About the Presenters:

  • Dr. Harinder Dhaliwal, MBBS, FRCPC completed medical school at Armed Forces Medical College in India and then completed his Neurology Residency Training at the University of Calgary. He then completed his fellowship in Epilepsy, Clinical Neurophysiology and Critical Care EEG from Yale University and now has joined Fraser Health as an Adult Neurologist and Epileptologist. His goal is to start an Epilepsy Surgery Program, a Ketogenic Diet Clinic and a Critical Care EEG Program based in Surrey. His research interests include Critical Care EEG research. He joined the BC Epilepsy Society Professional Advisory Committee in 2020 to advocate for improving quality of life and improving resources for adults living with epilepsy.
  • Dr. Jennifer Percy, MD, FRCPC completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of New Brunswick and medical school at Dalhousie University. She completed her neurology residency training at the University of British Columbia followed by a two-year fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at Yale. She then moved back to Vancouver to join the Epilepsy Program at Vancouver General Hospital as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Her research interests include epilepsy surgery outcomes and neurostimulation modalities for refractory epilepsy. Her additional interests include optimizing distributed epilepsy care throughout the province, and critical care EEG monitoring. She joined the BC Epilepsy Society Professional Advisory Committee in 2020 to help advocate for additional supports and resources for patients with epilepsy and their families in British Columbia.
