Project UPLIFT
Project UPLIFT (Using Practice and Learning to Increase Favourable Thoughts) is an 8-week program that uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to teach people living with epilepsy a valuable skill set that may reduce depression, and improve quality of life in people living with epilepsy.

Project UPLIFT sessions are facilitated over the Internet by a trained facilitator and a mental health professional, one of whom lives with epilepsy.

Project UPLIFT for Caregivers
Join BC Epilepsy Society for Project UPLIFT for Caregivers, a free, 8-week skill-building program to support caregivers of people living with epilepsy in developing coping strategies to deal with stress, through mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This iteration of our program is open to caregivers of people living with epilepsy. During the program, you will learn many valuable skills that have been shown to improve depression, psychological well-being, and quality of life.
In order to participate in Project UPLIFT for Caregivers, you must:
- Agree to participate in a pre-screening process which will determine if you can participate
- Be over the age of 18
- Be available for group sessions from your home for 8 weeks at an established date and time

Please note that Project UPLIFT consists of group calls from your home once a week for 8 weeks. Sessions are kept to between 5-8 participants to allow for conversation. All Project UPLIFT sessions are facilitated by a trained Project UPLIFT facilitator and a mental health professional, one of whom must live with epilepsy.
Project UPLIFT is part of the Managing Epilepsy Well Network. Research for Project UPLIFT was funded by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
