8:50 AM – Keynote Address: Mike Scharf

Mike Scharf is a Fiscal Negotiator within the Fiscal Branch of the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation.

9:10 AM – Epilepsy 101 – Top 10 Things You Need to Know About Epilepsy: Dr. Cyrus Boelman, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Cyrus Boelman is an investigator at BC Children’s Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia.

9:30 AM – Dietary Therapies: Dr. Linda Huh, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Huh is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital (BCCH).  She is the director of the BCCH Ketogenic Diet program and the UBC Pediatric Neurology residency program.

10:00 AM – Progress in New Therapies: Dr. Mary Connolly

Dr. Connolly is an Investigator at BC Children’s Hospital, Director of the Epilepsy Surgery Program at BC Children’s Hospital and Clinical Professor and Division Head of the Division of Neurology, Department of Paediatrics at the University of British Columbia.

10:40 AM – Transitions: Youth to Adult (Transition Process, System Navigation & Supports): Kelly Anderson, RN and Jasdeep Lachar

Kelly Anderson is the Nurse Clinician at the Department of Neurology at BC Children’s Hospital.

Jasdeep Lachar is the Support Services Coordinator for BC Epilepsy Society.

11:10 AM – Transitions: Family Planning (Pregnancy & Epilepsy): Dr. Chantelle Hrazdil, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Hrazdil is a Clinical Assistant Professor, UBC Division of Neurology and a member of the Vancouver General Hospital Epilepsy Program, including the Epilepsy Clinic and the Seizure Investigation Clinic.

11:30 AM – Open Panel Discussion

12:00 PM – How You Can Help to Make a Difference: Kim Davidson, BA, MA

Kim Davidson is the Executive Director of the BC Epilepsy Society.
